There are various ways of getting the information: buy the certificate
which is the easiest because Tavistock Registration District covers
quite a large area. They would have been married anytime between 1
July 1850 and 30 September 1850, possibly a few days before 1 July
depending on when the local registrar sent in his returns to the
Registrar General. Nobody has access to the GRO entries except via
certificate.

Another way is to ask the DFHS for a print out (for a nominal fee) for
your name of interest over a set period.

See if there's an OPC for the area who might be able to help.

Or wait for someone who is going to the record office and has the time
and the willingness to check the various registers within the Tiverton
Registration District for you.
