Hi, I cannot find on freebmd the marriage you mention ,
searching from 1838 - 1845 . There are two pages of marriages which
include the name John Ellis and a female Parker but there is no guarantee
that they married one another as other names are also on the page. One is a
Mary Parker and the other a Hannah Parker , one is Shipston on Stour and the
other Portsea , 1839 and 1845 . No Ann Mary Ellis is born in the UK
between 1841 and 1860 , though without the date of John Ellis`s death , its
not possible to say when she might have been born .
There is no sign of an Ellis family in Buckfastleigh in the Tithe
Apportments of 1840 , nor in the Freeholders books in 1799 .
If you had any further dates or places perhaps we could help more ,
the census are the obvious search base but without dates , its not easy ,
and I cannot find a single Gabrielle until 1871 .

Seeking information regarding John Ellis and Gabrielle Parker who were
married in Buckfastleigh about 1841. Ann Mary Ellis was a posthumous baby,
born after the death of her father, John Ellis. Her mother, Gabrielle Parker
Ellis took employment as a governess at a neighboring estate, leaving her
baby with the grandparents, the Ellis family. She married the brother of her
employer, a sailor, we think was named Mr. Baer (not sure of spelling). She
and her new husband kidnapped the baby from the Ellis family and came to
America. When the baby Ann Mary Ellis became eighteen she received a letter
in England telling her that she inherited this large Ellis estate. Any
information about the Ellis or Parker families would be appreciated.
