Jean has asked me to post this as she is having ISP problems.
This is a wonderful site for photographs of many places all over the
UK as well as those of Devon and I have just spent at least two hours
wandering down memory lanes of Torquay.

Once there you will be hooked as I was as I found 67 photos of Torquay
for me to ponder over. One was a photo of something I had not known
about previously as it is of a concrete slipway in the harbour built
in 1943 by the Royal Engineers to be used for LCTs (Landing Craft
Tank). I t was from that slipway that many of those young GIs
embarked for Utah beach in June 1944. There is also a photo of the
nearby memorial recording this event.
