Hi Francis
According to this website...
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~stonemen/STA-STI.htm
it is/was in Charlotte Street which is still shown on Google Maps.
Looking at the aerial photo it appears to be mostly intact although there
are areas of rebuilding.
There is an Atherton Place in the road which could be Atherton Terrace
renamed.
If you Google <"Atherton Place" Plymouth> you'll find a number of images.
This site is also worth a browse...
http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/368337
although it doesn't currently have any photos of Charlotte Street, it gives
you a view of the area as it is now - very different from pre WW2.
We go down to Plymouth once in a while, so I could go and take some photos,
if you don't get a better offer.

Subject: [DEV] Atherton Terrace, Devonport whereabouts
I have found my g-grandmother in the 1911 census at Devonport - 8 Atherton
Terrace I think. But could be "Arthurton" or similar.
I haven't been able to locate such a street. I was wondering if anyone had
any idea. Her father ran the Crown & Column pub at 46 Ker St, so could be
near there.
Any help much appreciated.
