Hi Nancy
Hawkchurch is over in East Devon on the border with Dorset and this parish
was originally in that county until1896 when it was transferred to Devon.

GenukiDevon has a link to GenukiDorset where there is the info that the
original parish registers are held in the Devon RO (Exeter) and there are
copies at the Dorset RO and the Socty of Genealogists, London.
