Hi Sandra

Using http://maps.google.co.uk/, type "Hartland, Devon" in the search box.
Then, click on "from here" option on the speak bubble attached to the
arrow on the map.
Type "Beer, Devon"

On the map, it will show you a route between the two locations and on
the left it will give written directions and distances

I have only recently found this facility on Google Maps but find it
invaluable when searching for ancestors but am unsure about the
geographical area.
