Freebmd has only two Alices born about the right time - on born in
Surrey/south London 1869 and the other Alice Mary born in Dover Kent 1879
Unless someone "knew better" and confused "Newington" (Surrey) with "Stoke
Newington" (Middlesex). The birth was registered in Surrey though.
