Having been cast into nostalgic mood by all this, and thinking of British heroes, I hooked out my battered copy of Rosemary Sutcliff's lovely book "Sword at Sunset" and re-read Frances Brett Young's moving tribute to King Arthur and his knights which she used as a preface. It is probably out of copywright by now, but anyway, you can pick it up on the web.

Unfortunately it has rather a lengthy title - Hic Jacet Arthurus Rex Quondam Rexque Futurus. The poem itself is in English!
