I have a direct ancestor, Elizabeth ELLIS, who was baptised in 1705 at
Chagford, Devon. She married John DODD there in 1727 and had a daughter,
Susanna, baptised also at Chagford in 1737 . Elizabeth's parents were John
and Susanna, née DODD, married in Chagford in 1691. Susanna (b 1737) became
an unmarried mum whose son James DODD was baptised in West Teignmouth in
1761 and who is my direct ancestor through the DODD's of Topsham.
