Hi all

I'm hoping someone can help me with some information I'm seeking for an elderly friend. She knows quite a bit about her mother's family but says her father rarely mentioned his family though she remembers talk about a grandmother who lived at Goodrington Hall (House?) who had what seemed to her as a child a very attractive surname, possibly PRETTYJOHN though she can't be certain after all these years. I have managed to find Goodrington House in the 1881 and 1891 censuses but the family isn't hers. Does anyone have access to the 1861 or 1871 census or any other records that might shed light on this puzzle?
