A data miner is a tracking cookie which is relatively harmless. It
won't affect the searching in any way at all. Tracking cookies look
to see what sites you visit, not what parts of any sites you go to.
Lots of sites use tracking cookies to see how long people visit for,
where they go subsequently and so on. The vast majority of people
pick up data miners when they surf. So it isn't your rotten luck
either. Virtually all site will leave a cookie or some nature behind

Don't forget that you know what the site is all about the tracking
cookies don't. It's just a URL to be sent back to whoever launched it
on their site.

There's no need to let the LDS know because they aren't being
attacked. It's possibly a glitch in their site. I've had similar
before now and that was without any data miners because I block such
things from being on my PC in the first place.

I'll mail you off list with some precautions you can take and programs
you can use (all free) to make sure you can surf safe and without worry.
