Hello All,

Can someone help me with an adoption.

Mabel SATTERLY (?) was adopted by Robert and Eliza (HANNAFORD) SATTERLY. I
am trying to find out who her biological parents were because I think it was
family related. According to the 1891 and 1901 census she was born in 1884
in Ashburton. I don't know if this is her real date of birth or the date of
adoption. I am not able to find a birth cert for Mabel SATTERLY on
1837online.

What are my options of finding any details on Mabel.?

How were adoption handled back in 1884?

Any suggestions???
