I hope this helps.
The way I see it, the Liverton family had Aunt Catherine living with them
until the family got too big for them to be able to continue. She then lodge
with the CANN family (whose daughter's name is a mystery to me too!) Ten years
later she was in the Alms house and in 1885 she died. I would tend to believe
her status as unmarried, even though the later records show 'married'. She
may have been senile, and the information given by her could have been
unreliable; or a third pary source of information may have simply believed she had
been married. Her year of birth varies on the records too, but that is not
uncommon.
I included the Liverton records because they may be another branch of your
family to follow up on, since Catherine was listed as "Aunt" in the census and
their 1st daughter carries that names too.
