Hi Graham,

Thank you for your reply, at the moment I have no further research
on either CHANNING or SHEARS family.

Most years we go on holiday to Exmouth, so I know Lympstone
between Exmouth and Exeter, so it is quite possible there may
be a connection with your SHEARS family, if I find one I will contact you.
Finding my 2 x great grandmother Emma came from Exeter was a pleasant
surprise to me.

| Barbara,
|
| I have some SHEARS names in my family tree:
|
| James SHEARS B: 1830 in Lympstone married Elizabeth KERSLAKE 1859 in
Dorset. They had two children that I know of:
|
| John Hearn SHEARS B: 1861 in Lympstone married Jane SMITH and
| Frank SHEARS B: 1862
|
| Any links?
|
| Happy Tuesday

| Hello All,
|
| Is anyone researching the surnames of CHANNING and SHEARS.
|
| At long last I have found my 2 x great grandmother thanks to the
| Ancestry 1861 Census.
| Walter Roberts MALLYON married Emma CHANNING 13 July 1863
| St John t Baptist Church, Hoxton, Middlesex.
| Witnesses were Joseph and Hannah SHEARS
|
| The 1863 Census showed Walter was a lodger with Mary A. CHANNING
| widow age 42 born in Devonport, now living in Clerkenwell, Middlesex..
| Emma age 22 was visiting Joseph and Hannah SHEARS as sister-in-law
| in Exeter, where she was born..
|
| I would like to hear from anyone researching the above names.
