Subject: Coram In Wellington,Somerset. Burlescombe & Holcombe Rogus, Devon

Hi everyone
I am new to this list so please bear with me.
I have been told the family Coram is known in Burlescombe & Talbot in
Holcombe Rogus
I have an ancestor JOHN TALBOT CORAM born circa 1828. He ended up in Tasmania
(or his parents did). 1st mentioned in 1854 and married in 1861. At that
point I have him pinpointed with subsequent information. Family names are HUGH,
JOHN, HERBERT, REGINALD & HENRY.
TALBOT as a middle name is used over & over sometimes with the women but
there is always a TALBOT CORAM in every generation I have researched.
I have not so far been able to trace JOHN TALBOT CORAM prior to 1854. However
I have found a HUGH TALBOT CORAMĀ baptised on 19 Sept 1827 son of Henry Coram
(yeoman) and his wife Eliza. There is an older brother Henry baptised 1 Dec
1826. Wellington, Somerset.
It seems likely that this family have some connection with my Coram
ancestors.
I have searched the following sites + a2a, IGI, ancestry, and googled for
Talbot Coram and these

I am a member of the Somerset list.
I would very much appreciate any information any lister has or may come
across regarding this family, or any tips on where to look next. I have found no
evidence that my JOHN TALBOT CORAM was a convict, in fact he was a merchant &
ended up on the Town Council in Sorell, Tasmania. This however does not rule out
the possibility that he or his parents were transported. Family anecdotal
evidence says the Talbot Coram's can be traced back 4 - 5 hundred years. I'd be
grateful to just find 1 generation! :)
Regards
Diane
