Hi Deborah,

I've been collecting single-consonant surnames for a long time and haven't
come across a SPROUGHAN, but I now find there is just one on
www.yournotme.com (a website which purports to glean surnames from the
Electoral Roll).

STRAUGHAN is the nearest I have found, with STRAUGHEN, STRAUGHN and
STROUGHEN as variants?
