Hello from Australia. I am researching my GGrandfather, Richard HOPPER. He was born at Barnstaple, circa 1837 and is shown on 1851 census as a Farm Labourer in Fremington.

In 1868 he was a soldier in an Artillery Regiment and married Caroline TURPITT at Cheriton in Kent, in 1868. They had 4 children,

Henrietta, Frederick, Florence and Albert

Later moved to Stratford (then in Essex) where he suicided in 1905.

Is anyone researching this name?? Cheers, Bob in Melbourne.
