SNOW DROPS and THORNES: By Brian ZELLEY The name SNOW has
been discussed on the DEVON FAMILIES site there are two Snow names. To
refresh the memory of those few that care, the site is

One is Elizabeth SNOW born about 1817. She married a John THORNE in
1845 at the Cove Chapel at Tiverton. One of their sons was Frederick
Zelley THORNE. John Thorne was a son of Richard THORNE and Grace
ZELLEY. At various times the Zelley name was recorded as ZELLEY or
ZELLY.
On the freebmd site Frederick Zelley Thorne's zelley name was recorded
incorrectly.

As we fast forward to the 1900's, one Tony SNOW
married one Sandra May ZELLEY. Sandra is connected to the bunch from
the Tiverton region.

The father of Grace Zelley/Zelly is listed as Joseph, Josiah and Josias
ZELLEY and ZELLY in various records.

I'm not sure of the connection, if any, of Elizabeth SNOW at Tony
SNOW, but both appear to have Tiverton to Halberton area connections.
Likewise, I have not figured out the connection of Sandra's ZELLEY
branch with the Zelley/Thorne/Snow branch, but the Tiverton connection
is there.

At some time in 2004, I may try to tell a story or two about the SNOW
folks. One of the trades trades of the Tiverton group was that of a
lacemaker.
