Guy is quite correct about the Burnet Morris index and once again it can be accessed worldwide as it has been filmed by the Latter Day Saints (Mormons). On my fiche for said catalogue it is under the heading:

England, Devon-Names-Geographical-Indexes

There are many films starting with 1565115 but they do not run consecutively from that number. A query on www.familysearch.org should bring up any of the film numbers for a name or place required, On this fiche the LDS has the info that:

"The Burnett Morris index is a private collection in the Exeter Public Library. It originated from the Burnett Morris family and indexes persons and places in Devon associated with the Burnett Morris family."

For Exeter Public Library read Westcountry Studies Library as that is the actual library where this huge collection of slips of paper is held. As Guy says they are handwritten and sometimes are hard to read.
