I wonder if the place you're looking for might be "Morebath" in Devon? If
spoken with a suitably broad (but beautiful!;-)) Devon accent, I reckon it
might have been misheard.

YET, today I found this on Genuki, so I'm wondering if there is a Morpeth
tucked away in some crook or cranny in Devon ? Could someone clear this up
