I am still searching for my g.grandfather, Charles Milsom, born 1818/19 in
Devon (I think Bideford). He certainly died in Bideford in 1866. He seems
to have spent most of his life at sea, marrying in Gibraltar and bringing up
a family in Western Australia. His family returned to England when he took
ill in the late 1850s and they are all on the 1881 census. I have full
details of his career in W/A, but his birth/place remains a mystery.

I would very much appreciate any info. re Milsoms in Devon pre the 1851
census.
