Subject: [DEV] Information required on:Knights of St. Columba
Hello,
I have come across a document which is headed: Knights of St. Columba.
This is to certify that Harold Dyer Registered No 35/1703 was initiated
to
the First Degree on 27 October 1935 at Torquay. Council No. 195
I was been unable to locate the background of this organization, there
is no
information inthe Exeter record office or the County Studies Library.
St Columba was the Celtic Saint for Scotland before St Andrew. The
parish
church in Cullompton, Devon is named St Andrew, so there must be a
connection somewhere, as my grandfather Harold was born and lived in
Cullompton.
It would be nice if some one could help solve this problem.
regards
Vera
