Subject: Birth Cert Query...
Date: Wed, 22 May 2002 13:20:01 +0800
I have just received a birth cert from the ONS and under the mothers name it
has the following:
"Elizabeth BRINDLE late ROBERTS, formerly BONNIE"
Can anyone explain what the distinction is between 'late' and 'formerly'?
What was Elizabeth's maiden name? And does this indicate she had a previous
marriage or changed her name due to adoption or some other event?
(The birth was in 1891 - in case that may be relevant)
Many thanks in advance for any assistance you may be able to give me.
Cheers
Andrew
