Hi All
The best known Sudbury is in Essex. If the name is spelt correctly. I
passed through there about a week ago on my way from Southend-on-Sea, Essex
to Feltwell, Norfolk. There is another Sudbury I seem to remember a lot
further north, somewhere near Uttoxeter, and there is I believe another in
London around the Harrow-on-the-Hill area. If there are anymore Sudbury's, I
can't say that I've heard of them. Why we, as family historians, always tend
to think the person who wrote down the details could not spell, just to make
names, and places fit in, is beyond me. The only way the two names could be
mistaken is if the original handwriting the details were taken from was so
badly written that Sidbury could have been mistaken for Sudbury. A
possibility all the same.
