My greatgreat grandmother was married twice, having been widowed the first
time, when she married the second time to my greatgreat grandfather, on the
marriage certificate her name is shown as:

Sarah TIMMS formerly MATTHEWS.

She continued to show her name on her children's birth certificate's as
Sarah Hardy nee TIMMS formerly MATTHEWS.
