Subject: George ELLIS, son of John ELLIS

George ELLIS's Naval records indicate that he was born in Modbury in 1832.
1859 Marriage Certificate shows his father as John ELLIS, Labourer.
Modbury Parish Records do not record his birth or baptism.
He was not found on 1841 Census for Modbury. We have information on all George ELLIS's on 1851 census about his age, but they do not tie in with other family information.
Is there a naval census for 1851 which could show our George.
Also a tall ask, but we would appreciate details from 1851 census of any John ELLIS, say over age of 40 and family in the South Hams area.
Family may not necessarily include a George aged about 19 as he may have been in the Royal Navy at that time.
Any information appreciated.
