John, from what information I have it does appear to be part of Paignton
Parish- at least it is not a parish in its own right. Unfortunately
Genuki/Devon appears to be down at the moment -that would be the best place
to check. I'm not sure of the details but I think Paignton Parish graveyard
was closed fairly early and a new cemetery built at Colley End- is it
possible that the parish church yard being full and if a keen church member
there was room at Collaton. I Don't know for sure.

Two questions:
1. Is/was this church a chapel of ease within Paignton parish

2. My gt grandmother is buried in the churchyard next but one to her
sister. Even though they died ±15 years apart. The sister lived in the
centre of Paignton whilst my ancestor came over from Canada
to visit her family knowing she was dying. I would appreciate any
suggestions as to why they would be buried in Collaton since they were
living in Paignton town and it would certainly have been a bit of a hike to
get
out there on Sundays in the 1880s.
