Seems I may have a Marriage record for your John HEXT.

It is:- "December (qtr) 1841: District Volume Page

Totnes 9 595 "

Looks to be the right date and area.

No known link with my PEARSEs, but would be very grateful if any lister stumbles on them, mid-1800s, Plymouth area. Do census records for 1851 or thereabouts exist for Plymouth? If so, would appreciate a look-up or suggestion as to how I might access them. It's not so easy to pop down to the GRO from here.
