I'm not sure whether one of the books you are referring to is
"Plymouth & Plymouthians" by Andrew Cluer & Ron Winram. You might
not be aware that this has been indexed - the index is available via
the GENUKI/Devon page for Plymouth.

However, if either - or both - of your books are not among those that
have already been indexed for GENUKI/Devon, I do hope you'll consider
preparing indexes to them.
