Sassy, the Courtenays are and were the Earls of Devon -not the Duke, that
title does exist but has no connection to the county except the name.
Devonshire is the full name of the county but is not used that often these
days.
The Earls of Devon built and reside at Powderham Castle,which is on the
south bank of the estuary of the River Exe, Nr Kenton. There is I believe a
book chronicling the history of the family, but i'm afraid I don't know the
details.
