I searched the 1851 Census for you and didn't find a James WAY with a wife
named Emma. I also looked for Emma BETTY/BETTEY and did not find anyone with
that name. There were a few Emma WAYs, but all except one were listed as
daughters. The one who was not a daughter (visitor) was only 16 and
therefore unlikely to be married. There were many unmarried James WAYs
though. If you give us some more information, such as approximate birth
year, parents or siblings names, birthplace or census location someone may
be able to help you further.

it would be too much trouble for SKS to have a look at the above census and
see if any of the following names are on it :-
WAY
