Hello Diana
This is yet another example of the stupid way the transcribers of 1851
have put the registration district as a part of the 'Address'. The
Address is Harts, Lifton: NOT as it appears. See my page on
'Searching the 1851 Census' at www.eclipse.co.uk/a-french/searchin.htm
Yes, you can bet your boots it is the same place. Don't expect people
to be fussy about spelling until the END of the 19th century, at
least. Harts is the modern spelling.
