It seems to me that all this talk of the DFHS has increased its membership
considerably!!

I would like to reiterate what someone else said about John Lerwill, as I
too am one of his volunteers for the DEVON 1891 census transcription. I
think I am right in saying that it was actually this list that prompted its
inception and although I am not looking for plaudits, I think the DFHS might
have mentioned something about this project in the Historian, even if it was
only to ask if there were any more volunteers with a PC willing to spend
some time transcribing or checking. After all, I'm sure that the census
once transcribed will be available for all searching for ancestors in
Devon.

John has already spent an enormous amount of time on the software for the
transcription and keeps us updated with regular postings of updates and
info.

Well done, John! (Let's hope the fiche arrive soon!)
