Hello list members!! I am searching the ARMES branch of my family tree.
My great grandfather, Jonathan ARMES married Elizabeth Joicham LANGMAN,
May 26, 1866 in Trinity Church, Parish of Holy Trinity, Plymouth. On
marriage cert. his age is "full residence, Holy Trinity and occupation
"Commercial Traveler" his father is also Jonathan Armes; his occupation
is "Inn Keeper". Elizabeth was 20 yr. old, residence; Bere Ferris and
her father was James Langman, occupation; "Yeoman". The marriage was
witnessed by Edward GAUD and Elizabeth MEW. I would like to get Jonathan
Armes bithdate and place of birth. These folks are my father's
grandparents, and his father told him that his parents died young in a
flu epidemic. This must be true, (but I would like to find out for sure)
as the 1881 census shows the children (James Armes and sister Kathleen
Armes) living with an uncle, William Squires in Tavistock. This is where
James Armes was married. If anyone of you good folks can help me, it
would be much appreciated. Thank you. Dorothy
