At the risk of offending, let me say that the agenda for the LDS church and
the C of E differs greatly. It is my understanding that the gathering of
ancestors is less of a genealogical pursuit and more of a doctrinal
necessity for members of the LDS. Prostheletizing is also a tenet of the
Mormon faith. Anglicans are less so inclined.
Admittedly, as a genealogist and family historian, I too would like records
to be available. One must have sources other than the IGI however, due to
the inaccuracies found therein...The search is always on for accurate
sources. PAC
