Hello there from Australia. After many years researching the
Montgomery and Down families,
I have much I can share, but I still fail to get beyond the parents of Jane.
She was born in 1814 to Thomas (a sawyer) and Jane at Dock, Devon.
John MONTGOMERY and JANE DOWN married at Stoke Damerel in 1832.
I have a lot of family names and rellies from way back, but would love
to find someone linked to this early family who is seeking links.

Some family are in East and West Dean, SUSSEX. John Montgomery
was in Royal Navy in Canada (b.1810 Halifax.N.S.) before moving
to U.K. where he transferred to the Coastguard, serving along the English
coast.
Would love to hear from anyone as I have much to share...
