Hi,
I realize this is a shot in the dark, but who knows. The name Modbury =
in Devon popped out at me, along with the Rogers name.
My GGGgrandmother was a Nancy Rogers, married to Samuel Williams, all =
from Devonshire England. All I know about Nancy is that she had a =
sister Julianna, and she died in 1867. Nancy and Samuel had a daughter, =
Mary Ann, who married a William Locke of Morbeth, Devonshire. The =
reason Modbury looked familiar is that Mary Ann had a brother, Andrew R. =
who was born in Modbury, Devonshire, in the year 1842. Their first born =
son was named John, born 1839, but I don't have an exact place of birth. =
The information on Andrew is from an obituary. =20
Like I said, I realize this is a shot in the dark, but maybe the family =
(Rogers, Williams and Locke) stayed in the same community.
If any of this sounds remotely familiar, please let me know.
Thanks,
Claudia Garner
