Hello,
I am looking for Lord and Lady Pulling. They had two daughters, Karran and
Jemima Pulling. Jemima was born about 1800 and was married 14 Nov 1820 in
Cannington, Somerset, to Adam Cotter, her parents' coachman. This is what
we know about them:
"My mother's grandparents on her mother's side were people of title and
were known as Lord and Lady Pulling. They lived on a large estate of
beautiful grounds with a large beautiful home and servants in livery. Their
coat of arms were upon the doors of their carriages and livery of their
servants. My grandmother, Jemima Pulling, disgraced herself in her parents
estimation by falling in love and marrying her father's coachman, Adam
Cotter, and was consequently disinherited by her parents. At their death,
the property went to my grandmother's only sister, Karran Pulling, who never
married, but lived to be a middle aged lady, and always said she would leave
her property to her sister's children when she died." (She did not do
this.)
"We never heard any news from the estate until after my marriage. While
living in California, I met some English tourists and I invited them to my
home. They knew the place where my great grandparents had lived and told me
the property had been in Chancery many years."
I believe this line might have ended there except for Jemima, so any info on
Pullens or Pulings is welcome.
Thanks for your help.
Pam Tucker
