Possible, Cai, but not probable. The -g- is definitely a -g- matching
all the others on the page, and the 2nd letter is definitely not an -e-,
more like an -a- or -o-. But I do appreciate the response and the
suggestion.

Could it perhaps also not be 'Wejermand' / 'Vejermand' ~ ?

I old Danish handwriting a -g- and a -j- look alike.

A 'vejermand' was a 'weigher' at a weight booth/house,
common in the agricultural contryside.
