Deed. 9 Apr 1774. Whereas James Piper, late of New Castle Co., dec'd, in
his lifetime was seized of divers tracts of land and premises in St.
George's Hd. He died Intestate and Administration of his estate granted
to Susana Piper, John Meris and John McCoole, who, on 20 Jul 1773
rendered account to Orphans Court. On 15 Sept., a lot of marsh and one
of upland exposed to public auction. The two lots sold to ISAAC HYAT
[sic] for the sum of 49 pounds 18 shillings 4 pence. The marsh lies on
the South side of Augustine Creek near Wolf Island. It bounds marsh
formerly of Paul Barns, lot formerly of Jacob Gooding, Esq., dec'd, and
marsh of Gertrude Rothwell containing 5 acres 27 perches. The other lot
bounds the lands of sd Barns and sd Rothell containing 1 acre 12

Mortgage. 25 Feb 1771. ...grant unto Ann Clay, a plantation tract of
land situate in St. George's Hd. in New Castle Co. and bounds the lands
of James McDonough, ISAAC HYATT, William Clark, John Golden, land late
of James Piper, dec'd., and lands formerly of Samuel Vance, now dec'd,
containing 245 acres 34 perches. Rec: 8 Oct 1771.

Deed. 4 May 1775. James Piper of Kent Co. for the sum of 83 pounds 15
shillings sold unto William Read of St. George's Hd. in Co. of New
Castle two lots of Marsh situate on the South side of Augustine Creek
near Wolf Island. They bound the Marshes of ISAAC HYATT and William
Hanson containing 16 acres 117 perches. Signed: James Piper. Wit: John
