Maybe you could help me get started in the right direction. My mother, Betty Croal Dakers, was born in Scotland, 10/6/1920. Her father was James Dakers, born 1887, wife Bessie Nicol (unknown maiden name). I have a photo of a headstone, "1878 erected by Ann Stewart, in loving memory of her husband, James Croal Dakers, died 7/13/1878, age 40. and their sons Arthur Stewart, James Croal, died 1889, also of the above, Ann Stewart, died at 77 1916". This headstone is in Brechin, Scotland. Next to this headstone is a headstone, " erected by John Dakers, in loving memory of his wife,Jemima Maacrae, who died 22 oct 1913, age 49". I do not know if the second headstone is part of our family, but I'm pretty sure the first one is, because of the middle name "Croal". Thanks
