Hi Ray !
Its actually a freind of a freind. Otherwise, there is a list of researchers
on the Rootsweb Czech list web page, you could also chk CGSI.org.
If this is all you know Ray, its not much for anyone to start out at. Do you
know any villages they were from or born in besides Praha? Or what area of
Praha? The problem is, for Marriages and births, if it happened in Prague, that
doesnt help much. You really need to know the church, or if you knew what area,
then if the churches still existed, you could chk just those churches in the
area of Prague.
For example, for me, family history has my GGF and wife married in April
1872, where were not sure, where he was born, not sure, she was supposedly from
Prague born there too, but to check Prague marraige records for 1872, thats 72
Parishes!!. Im down to 55 or so and some I was able to eliminate ( Lutheran )
So, its really a needle in a haystack. Having an uncommon family name doesnt
help, unless you were to do something really simple, like try to send a Ltr to
all in the city w/ that surname. Some may say that is not worth it, BUT is
it worth it to you?
If your certain of the arrival time in the USA, have you found them on a
ships passenger List? Any village info there? Any citizenship papers, that show
where they came from?
Any events in the USA, that might indicate where they came from? recent Obit
after arrival?
There is also the possibility of Emmigration records in Czechia. But again,
if your not sure where they were from? If Praha, then maybe that is do-able?
There is an article by a freind, he no longer does research, it is here...

This may give you some ideas. Im not up on researching this area, and I
believe it can be hit and miss, but its on my list of records to research, or have
a Researcher do for me.
In the meantime, id go to the Czech List, search archives, and look for posts
on Researchers folks have used. This was a topic not too long ago 1-2 mos??
In the meantime, I have requested the e mail of my freinds, freind in Praha,
to fwd your
e mail.
