The following Obit will appear in the Tampa Trubine 9 Jul 2007. I will
explain circumstances later.
BYRGE, Mona G., 83, passed away 26 July 2007. Born 24 May 1924 in Spencer,
Maclean County South Dakota, she is the daughter of William Thomas Walters and
Lucy Andrew, both natives of Whitley County Kentucky. She was preceded in
death by parents, 3 sons, Thomas P. Byrge, David O. Byrge, and infant son.
Brother Harry Walters, sisters Georgie E. Walters, Essie Norlie Walters,
Velma Olis Poore (Sherman Poore) and grandson Timothy G. Fischer.
Survivors include - Husband of 63 years Neal B. Byrge, 2 daughters, Mona M.
Angelo and husband Phillip, Lucy L. Byrge and husband Jerry Tackett, 9
grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
At age four Mona and family moved to Bell County Kentucky. She attended
Middlesboro Kentucky public schools and graduated class of 1942. Married 17
January 1944 Middlesboro Bell County Kentucky. After her marriage she lived in
many states as a military wife. Her only overseas tour was the Island of
Mona is a member of New Beginnings Christian Church Tampa Florida. She
enjoyed many hobbies including sewing, quilting, and her embroidery machine.
She also enjoyed her monthly sewing get-togethers with her two daughters.
All three are members of S.E.W.S. (So Elegant Women's Society)
As a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, she was the best.
The family will receive friends 9 - 10 am on Monday, July 30, 2007 at
Marsicano- B. Marion Reed - Stowers Funeral Home, 4040 Henderson Blvd Tampa
Funeral Services will follow in the Funeral home chapel with John Meisenbach,
Pastor officiating. Graveside services and burial will be held at Florida
National Cemetery Bushnell Florida at 1 pm Monday, July 30, 2007.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to MacDonald Training
Center Parent Group 5420 West Cypress Street Tampa Florida 33607
