Hello all!

A few months ago I took a pool to see who was interested in a chat room and message board on the Genealogy Depository site (address in my signature). I decided to go ahead and add them and they are now up and running.

For the message boards, there is a board for each surname on the site (Barringer, Black, Bradford, Coventry, Eller, Hackett, Hupp, and Kern) and more will be added later as the need/requests arise. You do not have to register in order to post to the boards, but if you don't register, you can only be contacted by someone who matches your line on the board in the form of a reply to your message. There is an option for an alert that there have been replies to your message to be emailed to you, but it doesn't work very good.

The chat rooms are available, but they are freebie chat rooms, which mean I have absolutely no control over what goes on in them. You can use them for whatever purpose you need a chat room, but please be respectful of others in the rooms. I envision the chat rooms being used for things as online family reunions, long-distance cousins who use the rooms to catch up on things, etc.

At this time there haven't been any other updates simply because I don't have time as I'm back to school full time, this time getting my Masters in Library Science.

Good luck everyone and I hope these new features help to further your research and maybe find you a few more cousins :)
