I have had a similar situation about 10 years earlier and have not solved the problem about inquests. The man in question was a bankrupt miller and there was no report in the newspaper but 10 years later could be different.
There are Criminal Registers at PRO in London and publishes volumes of Indexes for these lists. web site:-
