Daniel T.

When I went to Rockcastle Courthouse the first question I asked the
clerk was: I need to know were the Records for 1800's Deeds, Marriages
and Cementarys were kept? She showed me the records room and said the
Cementarys were some where else and THAT YOU WON"T FIND ALL OF THE
CEMENTARYS THERE. So quess what,I didn't even go to the room. I was
running out of time.
I have a map program named DeLorme Street Atlas USA Ver. 4 and if you
have a good printer and print the map in high res. you can see little
CROSSES all over the place. But I didn't see any for Old Souls Chapel (I
stopped and asked) Mt. Pleasent Baptist Church,Burnette Methodist Church
and Friendship Cem. Love Cementary (Cabin Hollow Road) I saw from the
road (RT.461). Two of these are on the border line of Rockcastle and
Pulaski Co. The other two are in Pulaski Co. Sorry if that wasn't plain
enough. It was the other E-Mail I sent the day before that had the
County Line Info. Look at your messages from 10-24-2000 if you keep
them.
Sometimes one just has to get out and take a chance and drive around in
the places you know that they lived near. These people were poor, they
were buried on someones hillside not always in a fancy cementary, those
are going to be in the memory of a loved one not in a record book. Those
are the hard ones to find.
One off of RT. 769 6 to 10 inch trees are growing up thur the graves
about 4 or 5 total. Another one back Bushy Branch ??? I had to cross
the creek In my Van, there wasn't a bridge. I met David Church looking
for directions and he took me to that one, I would have never found it.
It had Goff__Meece and a few others about 15 to 25 graves total.
