I have been looking at information on Philip Herndon Clayton. Everything we
have looked at showed his parents as being Philip Clayton and Ann Swann
Churchill. But we looked at a marriage application for a P. H. Clayton who
married a Julie Haven and it showed that his parents were John Clayton and
Nancy Forde. Also looking at a letter that was written in 1898 written by a
John Samuel Clayton to a cousin says that Philip Herndon's father was John
Clayton.

I am a letter confused right now. Any information would be appreciated.
