I have an ancestor, named Henry Morrison. He was a Mariner and was
born either in the North-East of England in the Newcastle upon Tyne
area or in Scotland around 1800. When not at sea, his homes were in
the North/South Shields area of North-East England. He married Mary
Ann Hunter in 1819 at Jarrow, County Durham. They had at least 3
children, Henry Morrison (1820 - 1905), Mary Ann Morrison (1825 -
1876), Sarah Morrison (1833 - 1878). A daughter of Mary Ann Morrison,
who married Thomas Pollard was Sarah Morrison Pollard, my Great
Grandmother. She often said, apparently, that her ancestors were
buried with the Dukes of Argyll. Can anyone on the list explain this
allusion? And has anyone come across this Henry Morrison in their
research? I have searched censuses and BMD records with little success.
