Con,
Childress Creek in Pittsylvania is mapped at
http://geonames.usgs.gov/pls/gnis/web_query.gnisprod?f_name=childress&varian
t=Y&f_state=Virginia&f_cnty=Pittsylvania&f_ty=stream&elev1=&elev2=&cell=&pop

I show Childress Creek to intersect the Dan River about 7 miles west of
Danville and about 2 miles north and a smidge west of the 3 part
intersection of the Pittsylvania County, VA county line and the, Caswell
County, NC county line and the Rockingham County, NC county line. The
Childress Creek runs north to south and is about 3 miles long. It is on an
even Latitude with Danville, 7 miles to the west of Danville, VA and is
bordered to the North by Highway 58 and border on the west by Highway 770.
The town of Oak Ridge is just to the west. and the town of Vandola is just
to the east of Childress Creek.
Regards,
Gary
