Benjamin Childress (1764-1857) enlisted, 1780, and served two months as
a private in Capt. John Christian's company; re-enlisted, 1781, serving
two months in Capt. James Lamplin's company, Virginia troops. In 1850
he applied for a pension which was not granted, as he did not serve the
required six months. He was born and died in Albemarle County, Va.
